SINGAPORE: The last 12 members of the Singapore Civil Defence Force who were helping in search and rescue operations in Khao Lak, Thailand will arrive home on Friday evening.
They are from the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) who stayed behind after the rest of the 68-strong contingent had left, to help in possible search operations

The recent tidal wave disaster has brought untold damage and devastating lost of lives in our neighboring countries. The disaster is thought to be one of the worst in the history, and the affected countries - India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Indonesia, to name a few - are in a dire need for help and aid. The current death toll is more than 80000 and counting. If help doesn't arrive soon, the number of death will continue to rise due to lack of food and clothing, infectious diseases... possibly claiming as many lives as the deadly tsunami did.
On be half of Taufik and the Taufik-ed Blog Network, we would like to appeal to all fans of the first Singapore Idol to contribute generously and do all you can to help the victims of the tidal wave disaster. It is also Taufik's intention for well-wishers intending to contribute to the "Taufik iPod Fund" to channel your contributions to help the victims instead. For Singapore-based fans, here's how you can help:
No amount is too small - every dollar, every piece of cloth, every scrap of food will spell survival for the tsunami victims. Do what you can to help our suffering human being... and avoid the strike of a second disaster, if not enough aid reach them in time.
